Sometimes being so far away from home and your family and friends can bring you down. Thanks to the internet and more importantly email i can communicate with my family. And get a few pictures here and there.
This is my mother. And miss here quite a bit.
I think I might be going to Iraq sometime next year.

My bicycle came today. My mom sent it via ship to Japan. The price was about 4 times less then shipping it by plane. About 10 minutes into riding it I destroyed my toe clips. The cheap stuff never holds up. Having my bike will give me a better opportunity to explore this island. More pictures to come. My fish eye lens should be here sometime this week.

For some reason the people of Okinawa have this weird fascination with James Brown, and Jamaica. They love reggae music and just had a Reggae Festival. A majority of the cars here have Jamaican flags somewhere on the vehicle. Anyway I found this singing and dancing James Brown doll in a reggae store in American Village.

| EMT SCHOOL |

I was selected for EMT school through the Navy. SInce I told them I planned on trying to get into Med School, they thought it would be a good idea if I went to EMT school. After EMT school they want me to submit a package to attend Paramedic School. Said its good training if i want to become a doctor.
The school starts on Monday. I will be a certified EMT when I finish this course. Pretty cool.
This is my next purchase. I'm no professional photographer. Nor do I inspire to be one. I'm going to be traveling quite a bit and I think it would be nice to have pictures of where I'm going. I just figured I could use a little nicer camera then the cheapo I got.

There are vending machines everywhere. In front of house, in the middle of fields. Everywhere you can't go 50 feet with out there being a vending machine. The Japanese are a very thirsty culture.
This is by far the best beverage I've tasted in a long time. All three flavors. They also have vending machines that sell underwear, socks, cell phone, ipods etc.. Crazy how technology is taking over the world.

This is what I am surrounded by here in Okinawa, Japan. Beautiful beaches and amazing weather. I spend the majority of my days off trying to see as much of this island as I possibly can. With college starting up next month, and applying to med school, I'm not sure how much of the island I'll be getting to see. Since I have to keep my grades up as high as i can to even have a chance to get into med school. Besides my trip to the main land to explore Tokyo in the fall I really have nothing else planned. Someone get their passport and come enjoy this beautiful island with me.

I ate sushi for the first time in my life. My expectation were high, everyone talks it up, it wasn't the best thing i've ever eaten. the japanese make better tasting meals. meals that are cooked.
shopping is breaking my budget. clothes here are all my size.

Japan is awesome.
I've taken a ton of pictures, but broke my laptop on the way through customs so nothing to post right now until its back from repair. Theres some amazing shopping in this country.
School starts on the 31st.
Im going to Cambodia in the middle of may for 3 weeks. My battalion is pulling into port to offer medical and dental support to one of the poorest areas in the world. Helping people to feel better, offering as much medical support as I've been trained to do is more then rewarding.
I really enjoy my job.

We didn’t think we ever would produce a fixed gear bike since it’s way out of our league and didn’t know how the response would be towards it but after getting enough inquires a year later we decided to make a limited run of 75 of them total. 5 each of Size 52, 30 each of Size 55 and 40 each of Size 58.
The frame uses the same tubing as our high-end bmx frames and shares the same tubing thickness. What that means is that you can jump off a double and still ride away. Not that we suggest doing that on a track bike but the frame will hold up to whatever you can dish out, guaranteed. Get on it while supplies last

The east coast is beautiful. I find myself riding my bike on the coast of north carolina more often then in the city. peaceful and quiet.
I enrolled into my college course for next year. i will be attending Central Texas University on Okinawa, Japan. Studying the Science of Nursing. Two years of courses in japan and then finish up school in the states. Most likely San Diego.
Its almost December already. Crazy, seem like it was summer yesterday.
